Extending Capacity And Improving Site Layout
The client needed extra storage space and better vehicle access without closing their busy distribution operation. Lswp Properties Ltd extended the existing warehouse with new foundations, a steel frame, insulated cladding and a power-floated concrete floor, tying the structure into the original building. Openings were formed between old and new areas to create a single, flexible storage hall with improved racking layouts and clear forklift routes. All works were phased around delivery schedules, with segregated access for staff and contractors so the facility could continue trading safely throughout the build.
At the same time we redesigned the external yard to upgrade drainage, surfacing and traffic flow for HGVs, vans and cars. New kerbs, service yard lighting, line markings and safety barriers were installed to define routes and loading zones. A dedicated waste management compound was created with segregated skips for cardboard, plastics, timber and mixed waste, serviced by licensed carriers. The completed scheme gives the client increased capacity, a more efficient yard and a cleaner, safer environment for staff, visitors and delivery partners.
